Hot tub report: It arrived late in the day and is taking forever to heat up. ...This is because this year the hot tub is using an electric heater as opposed to last year were it used a propane one. Unfortunately our hot tub supplier had to switch to electric because of some legal issues surrounding the use of propane.

Photos from the first week of not school. Photos include: us sitting around, skating, going to the movies, drinking martini's, eating at The Keg (I forgot to photoshop the food out of our teeth),...

So I've been seriously thinking about selling my car. Turns out its going to cost $750 to get it safetied and who knows how much it will be to get it to pass the emissions test.

Compare and contrast: Canadian Undergrad Technology Conference and Canadian Undergrad Software Engineering Conference.

It is no surprise that the Register was so wrong about the future of Microsoft's Windows Media Center. Recently at CES Microsoft announced:

  • Portable Media Center: Watch tv shows and movies during your daily commute to work. Or enable your kids to watch tv shows and movies in your SUV (your SUV's Media Center will automagically sync with your home system.)
  • Media Center Extender: Leverage your Media Center using your XBox
  • XBox Media Center Extender: Use your Media Center in any of your TV rooms

The short version of why I am excited about the Media Center is that in two to three years you will all have Media Centers just like in the past two years you have all bought DVD players.
