Design choice for towers saved lives. Excellent graphical overview of yesterday's events. Unfortunately it's in Spanish. According to the result of an Excite Poll 23% of voters would give up the freedom to travel in order to wipe out the threat of terrorism.
Count me out. I'd rather have a few pesky terrorists. Salon: Why the towers collapsed Wired: Anti-Attack Feds Push Carnivore. How important is your privacy? Would you waive your right to privacy via cryptographic methods if it meant a safer world with less terrorist attacks? Would you waive your right to private un-monitored phone and email exchanges?
To me, my privacy is very important. I would not be willing to waive my right privacy so that the FBI/CIA/.. could better 'protect' me from the evils of the world. I've gone old school. I.e. I'm listening to the radio (CBC) so that I'm not hitting refresh every 30 seconds. It's hard to get back to work while caught up in the terror of this all.
Today's UW Bulletin says all NYC co-ops have been accounted for. One co-op was even in the lobby of the WTC when one of the planes crashed.
