Wired: Glow in the dark fish!. Now where's my glow in the dark steak?

Rumor has it DSL and Cable are both in at my new house. Guess it's time to move in :) (I've been hiding out at Natalie's).

I was hoping for a wireless network for home but Donny bought some weird phone line home networking kit. Though I still might investigate a simple wireless setup for our top/nerd floor. And if they were really cheap i.e. $200 (my magic price point) I'd buy a wireless setup for Natalie's apartment too. I don't need lots of range here, just 50 feet.

EFF Alert: Canadian "DMCA" in the Works.

The deadline for 'action' (writing, emailing, calling) is September 15, 2001. I urge you all to at least email the Government of Canada Copyright Reform with the sample letter that the EFF drafted.

Why should you care? Because,

These anti-technology bans violate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom's guarantee of freedom of speech, and similar guarantees in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, since such tools are necessary to exercise lawful uses, including fair use. They would turn scientists, fair users, journalists, programmers, and archivists into criminals. While protecting copyright is important, passing measures that also censor much lawful speech goes too far, without ever achieving its objective.
