There was a bit of brouhaha about Dave's Awards recently. Check out the MetaTalk thread and Cam's The Dave Winer Big Ego Awards and then we got A-Lister Kottke bragging about 2002 being 'the Year of Kottke'. Dave responds to the uproar with A Weblog Manifesto.

I find it all very interesting but mainly a bunch of incestous bullshit. Blog for yourself not to get on some A list.

Newsflash: I just bought a CD. The Vanilla Sky Soundtrack. I know. I can't believe it either. My reasons for doing so are three fold:

1. I'm too lazy to find the 17 tracks on Morpheus
2. I have no more hard drive space on my laptop since I moved all my MP3s on to it for my trip home
3. I have a secret fetish for liner notes!
4. I couldn't buy the album online (in a digital format) even if I wanted to

Okay so #3's a stretch.

I should go find my CD collection now that I'm at home and see what the last CD I bought was. I have a feeling it might be The Tragically Hip - Live Between Us in 1997. Did I just break a five year CD free streak?
