So I thought I'd troll through Goggle Groups looking at my old usenet posts (no I won't link to a search with all my old posts. I've deemed them too embarrassing :) ) but the first result is this post with the subject 'to matt goyer' from Mark's exchange, Joel:

So I'm in Winnipeg now, a little earlier than I usually would come home and now I know why I don't come home early every year; everyone is still writing @#%$#@!$ exams!

And Natalie missed up the dates on a dinner party invitation so instead of hanging out with friends in Waterloo I'm at home bored out of my mind having called everyone I know in Winnipeg to either get an answering machine or to hear that they're still studying. Grrrrr.

Update: I'm sorry, it turns out what I thought was spam was not spam.

I just got this spam email promoting the concept of TipWare and they even mention Fairtunes!

How do you create 50,000 new songs in 3 years and reward artists generously such that the biggest artists create songs that distribute FREEly on the Internet?

Tipware is entertainment content or computer software that floats FREEly on the Internet while grateful fans tip the artist via PayPal.com, FairTunes.com or calling an 800 number.

Talk about weird. And of course we in no way, shape or form endorse the spamming of innocent people even if it's about Fairtunes.
