Feds Forum

General points:

  • There are a decent number of people checking out the forum.
  • Knowledge statements suck. This isn't Jeopardy/Who wants to be a Millionaire. But they do reveal just how un-prepared some of these candidates are.
  • I also do not like hypothetical questions.
  • In their introductions candidates should state what year and program they are in. Ideally they'd touch on who they are, why they are running, what they believe in, and how they plan on accomplishing what they say they will.
  • We do not need to clap after every question.
  • Customized questions are good.
  • A dialogue between the questioners and the candidates is good.
  • We need some heckling.
  • Ticket 'professional looking posters' gave out bookmarks to attendees.

VP Covering up Feds Money Losing Businesses

  • I realize these guys are going to be number monkeys but they need a little more charisma.

VP Clubs

  • I'm glad Brent took off his hat.
  • I'm tired of all this active participation talk. Students at Waterloo are very busy. What students need is that *if* they want to get involved they can.

VP President

  • Kevin wasn't able to show up. Tsk. Tsk. So some else spoke on his behalf. I think though it would have been better if one of the other candidates on his ticket spoke on his behalf instead of a random.
  • Will wants a precinct housing based model but doesn't want a ghetto but doesn't have a strong position on selling it to the community at large.

VP I really can't lower your tuition but I'll tell you I can

  • Talk about doing one thing for improving CECS. One suggested getting reps the other suggested better field co-ordinators. How about something radical. We don't help you get a job, you don't pay $500. Or, we don't admit so many people to co-op.
  • Muneeba copped out of the 'what Liam did badly question'.

Questions:

  • Good to see Imprint (Dilts) asking pointed questions.
  • Someone asked Will about writing duplicate cheques to himself ($161.45) as ASU president for some Arts BBQ. And he did! But in the future checks and balances, bleh bleh bleh.
  • Michelle called everyone on their use of awful and overuse of buzzwords.
  • I believe Raveel planted a question
