--Jacks you might find this post boring--

I find it amazing that I blogged about that mysterious spam this morning, and I've already received 30+ hits by way of Google (view my referrers). Now that is powerful.

So Darryl it looks like you're not alone but no one has been able to shed some light on the motive of this spam. But I think the bigger question is, why are we so puzzled when we receive spam that isn't promising me more money, a bigger harder you-know-what, and email lists?

In other news, I wrote an exam today and got smoked but so did everyone else. To ease my pain I decided to go buy a BBQ but it seems that Home Depot doesn't believe that it's BBQ season yet. They had many snow blowers and shovels but very little in the way of outdoor cooking.

Natalie on MetaFilter:
It's a bullshit "community" of educated, white middle-to-upper-class men. I've been reading it for a while, and didn't even *think* about this aspect of it until this brilliant thread about reparations. There's not one dissenting voice. It's fun to mock the hypocrisy of ____ (insert blacks, Amish, protesters, feminists).
And she's just getting started (Nat you should check out the MeTa thread is Metafilter a boyzone). Check out the comments in the condom post for more.

When Maeve's sister came to visit us this summer she spent a certain amount of time in Toronto glued to one of our computers tending her NeoPets. I must say I didn't get it but CNET has shown me the light in Who let the NeoPets out?

Basically you take care of a virtual pet while corporations bombard the kids & teens with product placements. Most interestingly about the NeoPets is that it's got Ralph Nader's back up 'whose consumer group worries that children may be unable to discern between ads and noncommercial content.'

I understand that blogging has hit the tipping point and so it's natural that we find ourselves flooded with articles about it but digital music hit that tipping point almost 2 years ago and yet there has been a huge resurgence of articles about it. The NY Times to Forbes.com, no one can get enough. Why is that?
