Official response to this weird thread started by Ming.

  • The fav blogs are *unordered* to ensure no one has their feelings hurt
  • There are 3 unlinked names in the hope that one day they will join the dark side.
  • The comment page doesn't use a template which is why the links don't match the rest of the site.

If you're not on the list and would like to be add a comment. Alternatively if you know of any really good blogs I should be reading tell me about them too.

Joel has figured us out !
By the way, have you noticed how often companies officially sell themselves off (probably for pennies) rather than simply liquidate? That's just to make the executives' bios look better.

Now you know why we 'sold' Fairtunes not that there would have been much to liquidate as our sole non-IP asset is a printer. Anyhow, you can confirm I used it to make my bio look better.

Here's a gem from Jack Valenti (head of the Motion Picture Association) who I love almost as much as Hilary Rosen:
I can sum up the entire visual entertainment enterprise in two sentences. If you make a TV show or film that a lot of people want to watch, you will do very well. If you make a TV program or film that few people want to watch, you will not do well.

Thanks Jack! Those are truely brilliant words.

He's also brought us much more memorable quotes such as once when he was referring to the VCR that it 'is to the American film producer and the American public as the Boston Strangler is to the woman alone.' Or most recently he said 'We're fighting our own terrorist war' while referring to some 50,000 cease and desist letters the MPAA had sent out.

Is this the man we want guiding our entertainment industry?

I poster caught my eye today and it turns out Waterloo is introducing a 'Master of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology' (a MBET). Not surprisingly no info about it is available on the web.. If you're interested (I am) next Tuesday there's an info session at 3:30 in DC1302.
