Our CEO Gary is jumping on the Radio bandwagon and has a new blog. Gary's not one to post about trivialities like flags and empty emails and you'll see he dives right in by examining the problem all new bloggers have and that's getting noticed.
The blog world is ultimately based on a system of gate-keepers. That's why there is "blognosing." To the extent that cross-links are the way that quality is measured, politics, "who-you-know", and skillful blognosing will always be a determinant of success on at least the same order of magnitude as the actual value of the output.

This is not because of ill-intent on anybody's part of a desire for power on behalf of the gate-keepers. It's just an artifact of the way things are done now. And it certainly isn't optimal.

If we can help you find new good music maybe we can help you find new good blogs. So read his analysis and push back.

(I'm sure you all appreciate the irony of this post)

John wonders if I have that flag on my site because of the Slashdot article: Canadian Government Controls Online Flag Displays in which it says 'the Canadian Government has trademarked the Canadian Flag and has the power to force Canadian citizens to remove the image from their web sites'.

Unfortunately not! I added the flag when Mark Pasc nominated me for a Bloggie (Canadian blogger of the year) (thanks Mark! (Note: Mark is a Radio genius)) and while I worship the American dollar I'm first and foremost a Canadian.

But rest assured that flag is there to stay, foolish Canadian laws be damned.

In turns out someone (Caitlin Weaver) is getting empty emails from mgoyer@fairtunes.com in the wee hours of the morning. Is anyone else!? Darryl is getting em too. Here is the email

Ummm, another blank message from you?
Not sure I know you, but try again if you want.

Blogger Pro. So when is Radio going to get:
  • Spell checker
  • Broadcast via email
  • Drafts (why did that feature disappear from Radio 7.0.1?)

Not that I'm complaining because I'm very happy with Radio :).
