So the only reason I have any interest in CUTC is to dump the free software on eBay (last year I made $600). So after dropping John off at the airport we stopped by and registered (since the conf is practically at the airport) but they didn't actually have any of the free software yet! Turns out it might show up Friday or Saturday. So this sucked and due to some major mis-communication we dropped the ball on Angie who both suffered long bus rides and no software. We're so sorry Angie!

My other CUTC complaint is that no one has responded to my question (also posted here) about the bad location. On the web you simply can't let questions like those go un-answered.

Then I come home and find none of my roommates home but I did find a room full of trekkers watching Star Trek. I should kick em out just on principal.

More for the cheating meme from Yahoo Ga. Tech Develops Cheating Detector.

Waterloo has some automated software to detect for cheating as well. I believe Langeman got rounded up once (in CS130?) but it was a false-postive.

So John is leaving for California today. Rumor has it both his girlfriend and his parents first heard of the departure here on the blog yesterday which is why I had labeled that post PSA for public service announcement.

So John is a poor boy which is why he's going off to work. This means he can't afford first and last month's rent in San Fran so his genius plan is to spend the next 3.5 months living in hostels (a new hostel every two weeks). If you have a hostel to suggest please leave it in the comments. His rationale is something along the lines of price, automatic friends, and Australian girls.

And seeing as we're having so much fun betting on Plaza businesses let's make bets to see how long John lasts doing the 'hostel thing'. My bet is that within in a month he'll be looking for a permenant place (might I recommend Craig's List as a place to start looking).

Later Johno (and maybe he'll surprise us and start blogging)

I broke one of our machines at work today. However Google tells me I'm not alone.

CNET is reporting that Toshiba is releasing 10 and 20 gig 1.8 inch hard drives. The astute reader will note that the iPod sports a Toshiba MK5002MAL which is also a 1.8 inch hard drive. So obviously the new drives will fit but will the iPod accept them? And of course they will be pricey as currently the 5 gig Toshiba 1.8 drive retails for $399 (same price as the iPod...)
