So we have this 52" behemoth television. But all have is this crap ass POS VCR. Last night we watched one hour of the Sopranos and every 30 seconds it'd go fuzzy because the auto-tracking is broken. On other tapes you have to wait 10 minutes for the tracking to settle down and the sound to come on. I swear that if there had been a VCR store beside our house I would have bought one that very minute (or if Future Shop delivered at 11pm). Unfortunately that isn't the case so I waited till this morning. So I picked up a very nice Sony VCR. The only disappointment was that it didn't have S-VHS. Why a nice VCR instead of a crap-ass one? Well we bought Natalie a cheap one this summer and it's exactly that. Cheap. No stereo. 3 button remote, can't change channels well... So might as well get something you can live with. Since I was picking up a VCR Donny decided to get us a real DVD player. It's fully spec'd out with a 5 disc changer, component video,... Now we have a very nice setup. Of course both VCRs and DVDs are against my religion. Why should I have to go to Blockbuster every Friday night to pick up a package of bits (i.e. some 0101010100101010s) when I have a big pipe that pushes 0101010101010110 to my house every second? Oh well. And I had to get a VCR since I already have a DVD player in my notebook and because Blockbuster doesn't stock everything on DVD yet,.. Ugh!
Next on our shopping list is a Tivo and a surround sound setup.
