A lot of people have complained about the price of the iPod (myself included). Now time to do a little debunking. The iPod comes with a 5.0gb Toshiba MK5002MAL hard drive it's size is 5 x 54 x 78.5 mm and weighs 1.94 oz. Compare this to the Archos or Nomad which comes with a 6.0gb Fujitsu MHK2060AT it's size is 9.5 x 70 x 100mm and weighs 3.46oz. So the iPod harddrive is significantly smaller and lighter and also retails for about $390!
So considering that the harddrive in the iPod is $390 i think that $399 for the whole package is quite a good deal. My advisor on this whole I'm not in a course I just wrote the midterm for fiasco, I should not fix this for you. His argument is that it was my responsibility to triple check that our shitty computer system (Quest) added me to the course and that I don't have a co-requisite (MATH239). Consulting the online calendar I see that there is a co-req (C&O230) and that I indeed don't have it since the course no longer exists! But really they should have picked up the co-req problem when gave me a spot in the course initially (after being on a waiting list). Now I did get my exam back (I passed). The funny thing is if I'm not in this course then I over paid when paying my tution but yet the university has not contacted me to refund my overpayment.
Anyhow. Tomorrow I will go beg for him to let me in seeing as there's only a few weeks of class left and I'm doing fine (i.e. the co-req obviously isn't slowing me down) and I paid for the course!
