Since no one else is speaking up...

We sold Fairtunes. The deal went down in August, signed a month ago, and the site transferred over 2 weeks ago.

So the Fairtunes you know and love is in the hands of some other guys. Hopefully they can take it to the next level, the level we always tried to get it to, but never could. We did take it pretty far though. Hell Amazon even copied us! So we must have been doing something right :).

Now I have time to focus on 'Emergent Music' and John has time to build our second killer app (to be launched once we file the patent) (idea behind our new app: get our revenge on Amazon!).

So if you have questions you know where to find me: mgoyer@fairtunes.com though I have been thinking of switching to a new non-company specific email address.

I wish I had Ming's problem. Unfortunately I do not. Instead I must have to agree with Rafi:

I should have switched into straight Business, the Math part is killing me. Especially since I know I'm never going to use most of it. But I couldn't go wholeheartedly into the trivially preppy Laurier atmosphere.

It's like that exam last night. I studied forever and yet I still don't really understand the finer points of asymptotic analysis and I know that will never use the finer points but yet I'm sweating it out learning them! I really should be at the Ivey School of Business but can't stomach switching universities again.. One idea that I have been pondering is cutting my losses on the honours degree and getting a B.Math (general) instead and then heading over to Ivey for 2 years to get a Honours Business Admin.. Hmm...

Or maybe Transpose will take off and I can retire at the ripe young age of 22.

So I wrote this exam yesterday. It didn't go great.. But half way through the TA came around to get my signature, check my student ID and to sticker my exam all in an effort to validate that I really was Matt Goyer and that I was really in the course. Well it turns out I wasn't on any of his lists and therefore didn't get a sticker! I emailed the tutor today who confirmed that I am not registered for this class even though I've submitted 3 assignments and just wrote the midterm!

I have an email in to my advisor who can hopefully fix up this problem.. And yes I really did sign up for the class but there must have been a slip up somewhere along the way.

Thanks to Chris for pointing out this story in the Globe, Internet and a tough market topple Sam the Record Man.

I think blaming the Internet is a bit of a cop-out. CD sales are only down about 4.5% over the last year. But I know that I haven't bought any CDs in the past few years but I may start to do so again just because I don't have time to spend hours crawling Morpheus. Though just last week I was looking for a CD by an independent artist and had downloaded the entire album in under 20 minutes which I found to be pretty impressive.

Air Canada seems to no longer fly into Portland.. Bummer! So now I have to fly US Airways and connect in Philadelphia..

I just went to drive Natalie home and discovered that a tire which had a slow leak is now completely flat. She walked home since it's raining and I'm not too keen on replacing the tire in the rain.

While taking a quick Google cruise I found this secret warranty info on our Neon! Now we did have to replace our head gasket at a cost of like $500 and our paint is peeling off like no more tomorrow. Time to dig up those head gasket receipts and get out my letter writting pen.

Wow: Sam The Record Man files for bankruptcy.

Sam The Record Man, a national music store chain, promoter of Canadian talent and a legend in retail for more than 50 years, has filed for bankruptcy.

...We're all waiting for the HMV beside our university to go under. I knew someone who worked there and she sad it's only a matter of time as sales are suffering big time.
