Wired, Fiona Apple Is Cookin' on the Net :
Songs from Fiona Apple's latest album are widely available on the internet and are being played on the radio, but much to the chagrin of fans, the album can't be bought for love or money.

Maybe she should put it up on OurMedia...

But really, this just illustrates how absurd the Music Business is. Unless you have a hit and an album that can sell 500,000+ copies then it isn't profitable to release an album. How sad is that? When is the music business going to acknowledge the Long Tail?

Reuters, A Little Moolah Goes a Long Way :
Welcome to the online store of the future -- the one embedded in your favorite video game. When Microsoft releases the new version of its video game console -- presumably this year -- it plans to include a storefront that will offer "microtransactions."

K5, A Coder in Courierland

John always wanted to be a bike courier. Maybe one day he'll quit his Amazon job and take to the streets.

Pixar offices.

I like that I don't work in a cubicle and that I only share an interior windowless office with one person, but I'd love to work somewhere cool and inspirational. Cookie cutter buildings in the burbs just don't do it for me.

I want to work somewhere:

  • ...downtown
  • ...where I can bike or walk
  • ...where I can walk to different lunch options
  • ...where I can partake in happy hour
  • ...where my building has character and/or style

In other !@#$ news... My car didn't start when I went to drive home this evening. The lights and radio came on but the engine didn't turn over. I promptly got out and hopped on the next bus.

Any recommendations for car garages near Redmond that I could get it towed to?

I guess this is a good time to solicit new car recommendations as well. My goal is to keep the car value under $1500. Darryl on the other hand thinks I need to focus on sportiness and has recommended: 1990 Nissan 300ZX GS, 1996 Toyota Celica and a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. (My zip is 98102 if you want to do some searches for me :) ).

I guess now is a good time to disclose I'm actually in the market for a boat, not a car, so I really don't want to sink any money into a car except to get me to my boat slip and back and work if need be.

!@#$ I posted a bunch of weblog posts tonight and my weblog software ate them.

I'd switch but there is nothing better out there. Can someone please step up and write some real blogging software? Something that kicks ass? The software today gets the job done but I need something so much more.
