Grad day photos (night ones will be posted when my cable arrives):

Oh the weekend.. Always so highly anticipated, but often such a let down (so we really should follow those trendsters and party more during the week).

After my usual Friday afternoon activities of doing laundry (my sheets still haven't made it on my bed because by the time I come home I'm just too exhausted to bother with making it) and installing the latest Media Center, we had a dinner in the neighborhood at Machiavelli's, which supposedly has the best Italian food in Seattle. The food was good, but beware the wait. Afterwards we congregated at Ming's and partied in his furniture-less living room (Ming isn't trying to be Zen, he just doesn't have any furniture). To celebrate Pride we headed down to Neighborhoods to close out the night.

Saturday after a lazy morning I got sucked into going shopping downtown, which for the sake of my budget I have been trying to avoid. However, everywhere had sales, so how could we resist!? To compliment our rampant consumerism Ming and went to see The Corporation.

The Corporation is a documentary about the rise of an entity hell bent on achieving record profits no matter what the costs. Its definitely a must see. Accordion Guy has some interesting notes on his blog part 1 part 2 part 3. I'll blog more about The Corporation, Whole Foods, and all that later (if by later, you think never, then you are probably right).

Afterwards we had fire escape BBQ, watched part of Top Gun, and then headed down to Axis and See Sound in Belltown. Every week the people at See Sound are more and more beautiful. We have to go while they'll still let us in. To end the night we tried to go to Chapel and/or Baltic Room but they were both completely dead. So it was off to Linda's.

Today we watched the Seattle Pride Parade which does not compare to the ones I've seen in Toronto or NYC but they're trying. Standards for entries also seem to be surprisingly lax. I think next year we'll slap a sticker or two on the Neon (if it's still running) and enter it as a float. Afterwards we headed to Volunteer Park to people watch and queue up for food.

If you think that my weekends are incredibly urban, you are right, they are. Next week we may make an effort to change that but don't believe it until I blog that we have actually left the city limits.

Globe and Mail, Weekends are for amateurs

Tired of drunken hordes and lousy service on Friday and Saturday, hipsters are staying out late on school nights
I was just thinking that my weekends were becoming a little too unproductive. But it's simple math right. Wouldn't you rather go out 5 nights a week then 2?
