If you're looking for a good, easy to read and understand guide to installing Sunscreen Lite I recommend: Sun Blueprint: Securing systems with host based firewalls. It includes such gems as:
Remember that it is very easy to saw off the branch you are sitting on when remotely logged into a firewall.

Though I'm wondering about this line, "If you're using this article to secure your home system". Who buys a Sun box running Solaris w/Sunscreen in order to protect their home network?

Feds have a 'plan' but when will they act on it?

Imprint: Feds exec reveal "Strategic Plans"

  • Edey: recognizes that keeping informed and relaying the facts are necessary to stabilize relationships with students.
  • McHugh-Russell: wants you to be aware of things on campus, and aware of what he is doing for you. That's why his top goal is to increase academic resources and information for student access.
  • Fedy: will work to improve Feds' visibility on campus while introducing Feds TV, which will broadcast in the SLC and student residences.

Talk talk talk. But where is the communication? If UW Admin can figure out how to install a content management system in order to communicate their vision of university of life to prospective students then why can't the Feds communicate with us?

And Feds TV? Whose brilliant idea is this? Also, an Internet Cafe? Read my displeasure of this brilliant idea in the other Fed's post's comments.

What the hell are the Feds thinking? Are they in touch with what the students want!?

(I mean to say, UW Is a great school young highschool student, in fact we ranked very high in the Maclean’s Guide to Canadian Universities.)

Imprint: Feds reject Tim Horton's proposal which means we may lose all the Tims!

Mark Murdoch, Director of Food Services, has since proposed an offer to FEDS to build and operate a full service Tim Horton's, complete with a full menu and on-site bakery, in the space presently occupied by Ground Zero. The Federation of Students rejected the proposal and do not plan to continue any relationship that would allow the operation of a Tim Horton's as an alternative to Ground Zero.

I'm not some crazy Tim's fan like so many of you are but Ground Zero is nothing special. It loses money, has no more atmosphere than a Tim Hortons, is not competitive and is never open when I'd like it to be. So why not put in a Tim Horton's? It's clear that the Feds simply cannot for the life of them run a small restaurant/cafe. Admit defeat, roll in the big chain, reap the profits, make the masses happy.

Update: More on this issue at UWS, GZ, Tim Horton's, Feds, Subway and Harvey's and on uw.general, GZ, Tim Horton's, Feds, Subway and Harvey's
