Why doesn't Amazon have an option to put my whole wishlist in my shopping cart? Why doesn't it give me a total price for my list? Why doesn't it have a quick and easy way to find a linkable url for it?

At my last (four hour) marathon session with Larry Smith I asked him to recommend some books for those who want to build an empire. This is what he got back to me with (Larry: 'Thought I forget, eh? No, I am just slow.' (he think he means busy)): He also recommended two other books if you're bent on changing the world:

So I was bidding (above face value) on two tickets to Gord Downie's show (link is now invalid) at Lee's Palace on Saturday. I didn't win, but was the second highest bidder. Today, I got this email from eBay:
Please be aware that auction:

2176609834 - Gord Downie Tickets Toronto Tragically Hip

in which you were a bidding participant, has been ended early by eBay as it appears to offer an item or contains material which is prohibited for sale on eBay. Because the auction was ended early, you as a bidder are not required to complete the transaction.

Are they finally cracking down on the 'scalping' of concert tickets? What will happen to all the Concert for Toronto tickets?

In other online ticket related news, I got a phone call from Ticketmaster asking if I really intended to buy two sets of tickets to the Concert for Toronto show. Yes, I did. I actually meant to buy more but your system sucks. It sucks so much that you had to call me to see if I meant to do what I wanted to. What's the point of moving your operations online if you're going to need to follow up every online operation with a phone call from a real live person?

My Outlook crashes 5-10 times a day and takes 5+ minutes to re-start when it does.

It's driving me loopy.

So let's talk courses for fall..
  • CS454 - Distributed Systems
  • CS480 - Information Systems Management
  • CS456 - Networking *or* CS445 - Software Requirements Specification and Analysis
  • STV202 - Design and Society
  • PYSCH101* - Ah, a first year course.
* I'd trade this for another (easy) (and perhaps more interesting) elective if you had any suggestions.

** Notice the absence of any of the big three.

Educause (an RIAA front (I'm not kidding)) has an RFI with a deadline tomorrow entitled Technology Opportunities for Addressing Issues Associated with Peer-to-Peer File Sharing on the University and College Campus.
The goal of this RFI is to identify and evaluate all available technologies that may be used by universities and colleges to address issues of unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material on P2P systems and bandwidth allocation on the campus network.
