I looked at the iBook I really did. But I'm a Windows guy or at least, not a Mac person. FYI, I ordered a Dell Inspiron 4000. It may not be as pretty as an iBook but it does have a bigger screen. 14.1" with 1400x1050 resolution instead of 12" 1025x768. And it fits within almost the same size package.
So it's a P3-1ghz, 20 gig HD, 256megs of ram, 14.1" SXGA, DVD,... It better last me at least two years!
Roll your own, DSL that is. My friends in upstate should have done this instead of ordering a $1500/mn T1 from AT&T. See they live on a hill just outside the DSL/Cable catchment area and this would be the ideal solution. UW Daily Bulletin announced today that the KaZaa and Gnutella protocols will be blocked because 'these services are generating excessive traffic on our Internet circuit, a resource which is generally used to maximum capacity'. This to me is ridiculous as our school already has a very strict excessive use policy. It's an either or. Either you ban stuff that causes excessive bandwidth or your throttle usage. None the less this is the University of Waterloo. Techno back water of Canada. I'm back 'home'. 'Home' being Toronto which we're moving away from on Friday for Waterloo. Life is also getting increasingly complex.
Listening to a Hip cover of Seven Days.. 'Seven more days, all I gotta do is survive.' (I know it's out of context... ).
