So yesterday I was fighting with some people (Dean Kay and Michael Kapp) on Pho and signed one of my messages 'Matt, proud creator of Fairtunes' to which Michael Robertson CEO of MP3.com responded You should be proud. It's a challenge to building something from nothing and even more challenging when you're creating something that hasn't been done before. He also pointed out that drawing conclusions about our stats would be like drawing conclusions about the music industry after the first year of sales of the phonograph. ..An email of encouragement means a lot, especially coming from Michael Robertson who has been through so much himself. - Thanks Michael.

Went to a seminar today titled Startup Companies: Factors for Success put on by the Infranet Project here at Waterloo. Nothing really new. Same content and same questions asked at the end. Maybe it's time to stop going to these things because the whole time I was thinking that I should be back in the trenches and not listening to other people talk about it.

I didn't think anyone would read this weblog but strangely enough people do. How do I know this? The logs don't lie. Well keep it up and feel free to email me.

Our competitors want to know how much we'd be willing to buy their domain name for. Rumor has it [they] just couldnt keep up with [us] zany canadians.... No matter what the circumstances it's always sad to see another dot.com go.
