Best Ski Touring Pants: OR Trailbreaker Pant Review

This winter I picked up a pair of Outdoor Research (OR) Trailbreaker pants and they rock! Best ski mountaineering/ski touring pants ever. Thanks OR and Martin for a great product.

I’ve tested them inbounds and on a couple big ski adventures. I love that I can wear them in -10’c with no long underwear bottoms and still be warm and when you start working hard on the uphill because the side zips shed lots of heat.

Pros:

  • Lots of pockets
  • Side zips for the uphill
  • Beacon pocket

Cons:

  • Mediums were too small for me and large a little too bit

I went with grey since everyone normally wears black pants. Also figured they might be a bit cooler (temp wise) than black.

Plus I scored a sweet deal. Only $135 on Amazon (MSRP is $200).
