The best office mate you could ever ask for is throwing together (okay, so he just sent one email) a happy hour this Friday at 5pm to celebrate (or mourn) my departure from Microsoft. We’ll be at The Chapel if you (yes you blog reader lurker) care to join (we’re assuming you don’t have travel plans this long weekend, which I don’t, because for the life of me I can’t seem to plan long weekends).

Puget Sound SIGCHI:

Puget Sound SIGCHI is a non-profit organization, serving the Puget Sound region’s interface design, usability, and human factors research communities. Our monthly meetings are Free and are open to the public. We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month except July, August, and December.

While I missed a lot of hockey in July and August because of sailing and vacations, I did make it back in town for this weekend’s Div4a championship game down in Kent against the Fossils. And I’m glad I did since we won 4-2!

What a great season of hockey. And last season we decided to keep things up a notch and brought in the T-Birds assistant coach to spend an hour with us teaching us systems to improve our game play. I hope we can turn it into a monthly practice (though it’s not cheap).

I’m back from vacation and have some big news to share, September 1st is my last day at Microsoft. I blogged more about this on my work/Media Center blog, I’m Leaving Microsoft.

It was a tough decision, but it is the right decision. On to new challenges :).

Made it to Toronto all right. Spent the night at the Madison. Sent my bike to London (oddly enough). And we’re heading to Hamilton tomorrow!
