J24 Districts

This past weekend was the J24 Districts.

Friday we all took the day off optimistic we’d have a great day of racing only to sit around the club all day watching the rain and waiting for wind.

Saturday we got the wind we hoped for. So much wind that after two races the coast guard called the club and told them to send us back to shore! Apparently it was averaging around 35 knots with gusts about to 47 knots! Fortunately we all got home safely. However, one crew, while they got home safely, lost their boat (hopefully they found it the next day further down the sound!?)

Sunday was relatively light in the wind department and we got lots of races in before packing the boat up and calling it a season.

A few photos from Sunday.
