The Neon was broken into this Saturday.

To be honest, the burglar did not have to break anything since I regularly leave the car unlocked, but none the less, the burglar did take my garage opener (to presumably break into more cars later), 5 gig 1st gen iPod plus car charger (but left the cassette adaptor) and took a Microsoft wireless keyboard that has been in my trunk for the last four months. It is interesting to note that the burglar did not take my three hockey sticks, bucket of 40 pucks, Salomon water shoes, or inflatable PFD (the PFD was the most expensive item in the car).

You are probably wondering why I leave my doors unlocked. The simple answer is that I'd rather burglars take my stuff than break my windows and take my stuff. Also, my car is used almost exclusively for driving to work; both at home and at work my car is the least likely candidate for a breakin. Also at home my car is parked in a secure parking garage. Though I don't how secure a car garage is that has been broken into three times in the past two weeks.

In other Neon news, it is leaking lots of oil and the re-sealing estimate is $1000-2000 ($1000 to get a new head gasket, which in Canada would only be $650CDN). I have decided to not re-seal it and will drive it until it dies (which is hopefully not on the 520 bridge).
