I'm a huge fun of The OC and since we have been in an extended OC drought I thought I would check out Laguna Beach. I know that it's supposed to be the 'real Orange County' but it's pretty clear that reality TV just cannot compete with scripted TV. In reality TV, the dialog is lame, the characters are weak, it's just not funny, it's not gripping and just not enough stuff is going on.

Really bad Waterloo co-op jobs (via this UWS story):
Qualifications:

To promote Liberty Tax Service via wearing costume, handing out coupons,...

...When I was on campus recently everyone campus told me the new co-op system, Job Mine, sucks.

My old company, Transpose, launched Goombah for iTunes v0.5 today. What is Goombah? Goombah is an app that does p2p music recommendations based on iTunes usage. It also combines blogs and social networks.

I helped build the 0.2 release. Gary has the full scoop on his blog. You'll see that they have spent close to two years working on this new release so if you checked out the old one, you should check out this new one too.

Goombah, and it's predecessor, Emergent Music were both built because of our belief in 'The Long Tail' and niche music markets. The idea of niche music markets sounds great in theory, but how do you as an end user find your niche markets? That's where Goombah comes in. Of course I'm not a professional writer so I urge you to read Chris Anderson's Wired Magazine article, The Long Tail which does a much better job of explaining the concept:

Forget squeezing millions from a few megahits at the top of the charts. The future of entertainment is in the millions of niche markets at the shallow end of the bitstream.

Disclaimer: I own stock in Transpose.
