I, well my weblog, was quoted today (spelling mistakes and all) in the Washington Post article Microsoft Masters the Art of the Cutback:
WashTech's piece mentions a blog by Matt Goyer, a program manager in Microsoft's Windows Media Center division. But it doesn't cite this interesting take from Goyer, posted last Friday after Microsoft announced the benefit cuts.

Needless to say I went to work expecting to get fired. Rather everyone found it quite amusing (but really, who knew that people read the Post?). Katrina joked she was going to make me a t-shirt that said 'I love our benefits' and my officemate Ben would get one that said 'I know Matt Goyer'.

I must say that its great to work for a company where you can openly disagree with company policy. However, I found this whole experience of having my criticism being quoted without permission in such a well known publication rather unnerving. Maybe it's time to only post happy cheery things about work (yummy yummy koolaid).

In other office news our office got a Light Brite yesterday. Lacking black patterns I used some regular copier paper and left it turned on when I left. But then in a panic on the carpool home we called my office mate to ensure he unplugged it because we were afraid it might catch fire overnight. Fortunately some kind anonymous soul put a pack of official patterns on my desk before I got in today so we are now no longer in risk of burning down building 50! If only we could find the time to set up a nice pattern...

I finally was going to take that difficult first step and go biking this morning but it is pouring out.
