I bought a used Siemens S40 to replace my Nokia because the Nokia just wasn't working anymore. I didn't want to get a pricey phone because I think I'm hard on my phones.

Same number.

Notice to Co-op Education Students: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

The University of Waterloo is directing students with a May - August work term in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Taiwan, or Viet Nam to cancel arrangements. UW will not grant credit for any work terms in the above locations during this work term

This is bullshit. Co-op/the university cannot and should not dictate the countries that you can and cannot work in.

Check out the links below and you will see that Asian countries are not the only ones facing SARS problems. Why turn a blind eye to the problem only an hour away in Toronto? We know students going to work terms at Toronto area hospitals. Seems to me that'd be much more risky than a work term in Vietnam.

The university needs to stop treating us like children and start to treat us like adults. We can make responsible decisions about where to work and the university should support those decisions. They should allow students to receive credit where ever they want to work and if that happens to be in one of their blacklisted countries so be it. And if conversely, students shy away from those areas then co-op should help them find alternative work arragements.

Two links from the World Health Organization:

I think some people come to the library just to perv/watch other people and not to study. Others come to sleep. For me, it's to see how much computing I can do before my battery dies.

It'd be nifty if my blogging software appended a tag line to every post noting where I was when I posted. I.e. library/living room/office/kitchen/C&D/lab... Once notebooks have built in GPS I guess that will be more trendy.
