Some of you may remember that we lost our home due to a '100 year flood' back in 1997. In the end the government repossessed the land and auctioned off the house for relocation. While we loved living where we did we ended up moving to the city so that if there were another 100 year flood at least the city would be there to protect us.

What we didn't consider in our decision to move was that we could have bought a 727-200 airplane home which has this appealing feature:

Land that has been designated as below the 100-year flood plane is ideal for an airplane home. Most zoning codes require the home floor to be located above the flood plane, which it is with the airplane home.

The Drew mentioned in this U-Haul complaint of Lisa's just called to say he is writing a rebuttal which hopefully I'll get in a few days.

So just a reminder, that I'm always on the lookout for good U-Haul stories.

President's Choice needs a medium chunky salsa.

If you too feel strongly about this please send them some feedback (thanks Paul (Actually curse you Paul. I'm going to get no homework done because I'm going to submit a bunch of complaints)).

Already there appears to be a strong culture centered around Danger's Sidekick/Hiptop: Hiptop (photo) blog & Halloween scavenger hunt.

Makes you wonder where/why RIM is missing the boat on all this.

The Globe: Royalty tap to be turned back on for songwriters
The Hip spent over $100,000 in legal fees to try and regain control of their publishing through the courts, but discovered they couldn't afford to buy it back from the trustee.

Breaking news: The Pretzel Place is getting turned into a pizza place!

That's right, we'll now have 3 pizza places in 'one' plaza.

So at this CD release party the second opening act's bassist was a little out of control. At one point he's laying on the ground underneath my chair and stroking my foot with both hands. That'll teach me to sit so close.

As for the main act, Masters and Moderns, they were pretty good though I know very little about the Emo genre ('cause I'm such a fan of the lesbian rock) so they might have been amazing but I wouldn't know. Someone who sounded more in the know said they were 'solid'. Anyhow, they're good guys so buy their CD (maybe then Jon can pay his hosting bill).

After that we headed to Bomber for the much anticipated patio opening. Now we didn't get there till after midnight, but assuming they opened it on time at 11:00pm, then the patio was only open for 2.5 hours because they started booting people off at 1:30am. Not that there were that many people on it because there seemed to be a distinct new-bomber-patio-a-phobia going on. Also we saw no heaters but I guess it wasn't that cold.

My favorite Imprint bit about the patio was:

When asked about the missed deadlines, he said "hey, at least it'll be open for next summer."

That quote pretty much explains the attitude at Waterloo about everything.

I'd also like to point out just how awful the bar service is at Bomber. I just don't understand how it takes so long to get a drink. You'd think they'd want to maximize alcohol consumption by minimizing lines so they could maximize profit but maybe I'm missing something.
