To make your lives easier I've created a Christmas Wish List. Go nuts.

If you're expecting a present from me it'd be best to avoid disappointment by dropping a hint or two in the comments below or by email.

When is everyone leaving Waterloo? I'm done exams on the 16th and I'm wondering how long I should stick around and the longer I stick around the more ridiculous air fare gets (AC has some 'cheap' fares if I want to leave Winnipeg at 5:30am!)

I remember that back in the day I could fly home for around $200 return.. Now it's $435-$500+. I miss Royal!

Dan: Having seen the legalization of pot in another country, do you think it could work for Canada?

Yes. I'm too lazy to really get into it but I will say: I'm a huge fan of banning (tobacco) smoking in all restaurants and bars across the nation. I'm no fan of Waterloo but I love that Waterloo has banned smoking. It makes going out to bars just that much more enjoyable.

So if we legalized pot smoking my only concern is that proprietors would find loop holes in the laws to allow them to essentially operate smoking bars. This of course wouldn't be a concern if these establishments were in the minority, but if somehow they represented the majority of establishments then I'd be disappointed.

Just this morning Outlook started attaching the bodies of all incoming emails to the emails as attachments.. How do I stop that?

The Answer: Just reboot. I love Microsoft!

Some UW student/RIM co-op wrote to The Register complaining that they refer to RIM as LIM.. Here are the letters he wrote: 'Lawsuits in Motion' name distasteful, ignorant.

I think this student forgot that The Register's tagline is, 'Biting the hand that IT feeds'.

So it'll be $315 to solve our immediate squirrel problem and another $300 if we want to squirrel proof the rest of the roof! Lauren is trying to steal us a ladder from school.. I can just see myself breaking my leg and thinking that $315 would have been a small price to pay to have not broken it.

Went to the Ani show in Toronto tonight with John's girlfriend, Jen.

We had Row O seats but I couldn't resist the upgrade but we hesitated and the Row A's passed us by so we 'settled' for centre seats in Row D. Anyhow, excellent seats and somehow I forgot my camera!?

Hamell On Trial opened things up and was great. He was a little more subdued since the last time I saw him (opened for Ani in Guelph) but right at the beginning he points to some vacant front row seats just in front of us and starts ranting about people skipping the opening act. Of course the people eventually show up and he berates them real good. The other good bit was that he brought Ani on stage for two songs. Feel free to buy me any of his CDs for Christmas.

Ani of course rocked though her set was very short. Definitely under an hour and a half. She played six new songs, four of which I loved, and didn't play any of the songs you expected her to. Some of the songs she did play included Two Little Girls (a fav), Rock Paper Scissors (a fav), Back Back Back, As Is, Shy,... (Jen, help me out..)

At one point there was some crazy Ani-audience interaction. It all started when some girl shouts out 'I made you a hat' and throws a toque on stage. Ani puts it on, tells a story, and every other girl who made and brought Ani something starts yelling out and Ani talked back. Very funny.

At the end we didn't join the setlist crush, but I snagged us each a righteous babe guitar pick and then we headed for home where I caught the kids at Weavers and then we hit Bomber (till someone was asked to leave.. )

Forgot.. That Ani sat the whole show since she had recently broken something in her foot.
