ZDNet: Toshiba's Mobilphile: A waste of good technology
In an apparent attempt to play nice with the recording industry, Toshiba has managed to sap all of the benefits from USB 2.0.

See Toshiba has proprietary software which converts all your MP3s into an encrypted format and because that encryption process takes so long the USB 2.0 connection degrades into a USB 1.1 connection. It also means that no third parties will be able to develop apps for all those 'fringe' OSes.. Ah well. Good thing I bought an iPod.

I really wish that professors/instructors would properly introduce themselves by giving us a run down of their education and work experience instead of assuming that just because they're standing in front of us that we'll some how respect them.

US Sponsorship (who just sent me an unsolicited email) smells suspiciously of Fairtunes, but with a broader scope:
It is an online forum to unite sponsor seekers with sponsors via the internet.

But it seems to lack the capability to 'send money now'. Instead you send a message and I guess the person your trying to send money to will respond? and then you'll send them money? maybe with a cheque? Hmmm..

Dear Nike,

I know I'm not supposed to be buying your products because of your unethical treatment of workers but being a youngster caught up in the trappings of first world homogeonized culture I bought a pair of your sunglasses.

Needless to say they broke and now I want them fixed. I tried calling the store I bought them from to see if I could buy replacement frames but alas they told me no. So I went to the web and got confused by your website so I sent you an email with your contact page. It's been a week and I haven't heard back so on Friday I called you. After waiting on hold for several minutes I could see that you could care less about customers with a credit card in hand so I turned the volume on my phone up and put it down on my desk so I could continue working because I'm not about to waste my day listening to shitty canned music. Some time later I heard the music click off but I was too late and I missed talking to your customer support team. Curious to know how long I waited I checked my phone and it told me 1:06. That's right, it took you one hour to answer the phone.

Needless to say I've expended a fair bit of energy on this quest to replace my frames and now I'm a disgruntled perhaps a soon to boycotting pissed customer.

Keep up the good work,
Matt
