I love New York. But Seattle is great too. For instance Friday after work I drove over to my boat, bailed it out and raced around Lake Washington for an hour. Certainly not something that would be easy for someone of my means in New York.

Then after a sushi dinner and drinks at our neighborhood bar we cabbed down to 'Sodo', the industrial district for a warehouse burning man party. It was held by a co-worker to celebrate his birthday and raise funds for Katrina. Unfortunately we missed the fire performers but we still had a blast. Hearsilla, their burning man project, was even there:

We'll have to see if the photos of us on her stripper poll turned out :).

Just to show that Seattle might have some game. After Spartay we went to Suite 410 (More on 410). Small bar. Pretty people. Apparently the Laguana Beach cast was going to roll in (they're underage but their promoter knows the doorman - we actually know the cocktailer. She's ex-Chapel). We grabbed some 21st birthday cake then jetted and missed them (if the rumors were true. Were the rumors true?).

Only in Seattle would you need something like, Spartay, 'partays for singles to meet singles'.

Several of us were curious about these Spartays and went to Spartay #4 at Nectar last night. The choice of Nectar was certainly a bad one since you couldn't tell who was there to Spartay and who was there because it was a Saturday night. And sure enough in true typical Seattle style everyone stayed to their cliques and sat at their tables talking only to themselves.

Though by the time we left we had chatted with a few people and the bar was on the upswing. Next time we hope this isn't held at Nectar.
