Dan just spammed me about FreeiPods. Curious to know the details I read the terms of service.

If you're interested. The relevant sections are that they will spam you and there is no way to stop the spamming. And also:

4. Eligibility for Receiving a Free Item for Referral-based websites

(a) For this particular website, freeiPods.com, users must do the following to be eligible to get approval to receive their free product:

i. Complete and get credit for at least one offer themselves.

ii. Refer at least 5 unique people who join and also correctly complete an offer under the terms listed in this document.

And
III. ORDERS

1. Receipt of Product

(a) Gratis Internet does not guarantee receipt of any product regardless of offers completed or referrals accumulated.

I'm too lazy to spam five friends that I would think would sign up for Blockbuster Online, NY Times, BMG, Netflix,... But if you are one of those sucker friends feel free to use my referrer link and we can see if they actually will send you a free iPod (I'm very skeptical).

I love that Mark Cuban creator of, yet another reailty show, asks on his blog, 'please TiVo!'

Mark gets it.

Thanks everyone who came to our two 'Meet the Company' presentations at University of Waterloo today!

I was completely shocked how many of you have read my blog :). I actually have an article similar to my interviewing one about 'why Microsoft' in the works. Hopefully I get some time to work on it at the airport tomorrow; look for it next week.

I was also glad to see so many smart and passionate Waterloo students interested in both co-op and full time opportunities at Microsoft. If we did not get your resume (tsk tsk, why didn't you bring your resume?), then you need to email Stacey. You can find Stacey by visiting the your campus page and selecting University of Waterloo.

For those of you who couldn't make it my favorite personal talking points are:

  • It was only twelve months ago that I was sitting in a Microsoft MTC presentation and now I actually work there
  • In six months I helped ship a cool product
  • I wasn't in co-op, had never interned before, and got not just an interview, but an offer.
  • Seattle's a great place! (Don't live in Redmond).

(I'm enjoying some free wireless in the SLC because my hotel, the Walper Terrace Hotel, which is a pretty nice Hotel, does not have Internet).

I'm trying not to panic but there are no hotel rooms available in Manhattan. What the hell is going on in New York City this weekend?

Priceline:

Orbitz:

Update: I found a place for Friday for $100. Saturday is proving to be more elusive.
