So Seattle. Yesterday it rained. There was also an accident on the way home. Today it is sunny but chilly.

This morning I read The Stranger while eating last night's takeout (yes, it is embarrassing to admit I couldn't find a dinner date on a Friday night).

  • I have been watching a lot of CSI lately. It's a show I recently discovered because there is nothing else on* during the week. Fortunately Spike has had a CSI marathon all week. But anyhow, did you read Monday in Last Days?
  • Did you know Prince was in town recently? Rumor at the office was that it would have been a good place to pick up as the ratio would have been most favorable. However that's not really my thing but Jennifer's Live Wire column, More Like Princess... caught my eye because it mentioned both Chapel (our local yuppie huant) and entourages (Entourage being the latest and greatest show to out of HBO):
No, the gossip was about the entertainer's entourage taking over Chapel, Capitol Hill's classiest, swankiest restaurant/watering hole, after those August 30 and 31 dates, inviting name celebrities to bask in his presence, and then reportedly spending the little time he had in the vicinity of that beautifully adorned venue in his limo.

Eddie Vedder was even there. As a regular I feel insulted that I wasn't on the guest list.

  • Safeway on Broadway is closing. Looks like Broadway will now be dominated by QFC and 23rd will be dominated by Safeway. Where or where is our Whole Foods?
  • Savage Love. I recently remarked to my friends that Dan just wasn't doing it for me. I complained that all his columns were blending together and had lost their shock value. No sooner than I complain then he writes a column about straightjackets, denim fetishes and condiments.

* Well The Apprentice is back. Of course everyone at the office watches it and we spent the first ten minutes of a meeting the other day discussing the first episode. Everyone was pretty excited about it but I wasn't too impressed. For one, I thought they did not show nearly enough of the toy brainstorming and prototyping process. They really glossed over the meat of the show. If they're going to go on witchhunts against poor guys like Rob then they really are going to have to produce more evidence that others were working and he wasn't. My other complaint is that the events need to be OBJECTIVE. What's up with a flighty toy designing contest? I want a contest that is end to end and judged on who made the most money.

So I'll be in Waterloo at around 7pm on Wednesday unless of course Toronto is the cool place to be on a Wednesday. Does anyone still go to Bomber?

Thursday I'll be on campus, and Friday afternoon I'm heading off to New York City where I will spend the weekend with my favorite Seattlites.
