The wrong way to shop for clothes: Try on really expensive stuff and then try on the less expensive stuff. Invariably the less expensive stuff just doesn't compare.

The wrong way to run a business: So, anyhow, I go to Zebra Club try on some jeans and find two pair that I like. But they're expensive so we head to some other stores and try on some less expensive pairs and I decide that well, maybe, it really is worth spending the extra money. We head back to Zebra Club, walk in, and were told that they had just closed, I told them I had what I wanted picked out and that it would take two seconds, no they were closed. I then said, "So you don't want my xxxx hundred dollars?". They said no, we left, and I bought the jeans elsewhere.

I just couldn't believe they didn't want my money. I sure hope that one day I can run a business that doesn't care about revenue. Yes, I appreciate that the retail staff is only paid $x/hr and could care less. But I am certain that the margin on my purchase would have more than covered paying all the employees in the store for an extra hour. If I owned Zebra Club I would want my employees to feel sufficiently invested in the business that they would take that extra five minutes after closing to bring in that extra revenue. And they didn't just lose that revenue, they lost a customer.

Weekend recap.

Friday the usual group got into the usual trouble on the Hill.

Saturday I woke up early and Katrina and I joined Lisa, from work, and her husband and went biking at St.Edward's park. It was my first ride of the season and Katrina's first time mountain biking so it was a pretty low key ride followed by some pizza.

After recovering from the short ride in the late afternoon I went out with Ben shopping. I bought a shirt, jacket, and some Diesel jeans. Afterwards we met up with the usual crowd for dinner at the Icon Grill , then grabbed drinks at Ben's, were joined by John and Jen, and then headed out for a night on the town. We tried out the Pink Door and the Zig Zag Cafe but both places were not happening so we went to the Alibi room which had a good DJ. The downside of the Alibi room is that it is very small and VERY HOT. After we got all hot and sweaty we flagged down a huge taxi van and bussed it up to Chapel to end the night.

Today, I had brunch with John and Jen and then we drove over to Alki Beach and wandered around there for the afternoon. I took some pictures and I'll try and get them online tomorrow.

In the last two months I have been blogging a lot less. The excuse is that I'm busy but that's a poor one. So, I'm aware of the problem and will resolve to fix it.
