So Sunday I drove up to Toronto with Lauren and meet up with Jackie. The first order of business was finding me some sailing gloves. Tragically Fogh Marine was closed so we headed off to the Dock Shoppe on Queens Quay. Thinking we were close by we parked at the Radisson and I tried to use my credit card to pre-pay for parking but my card got trapped in the machine. I told the guy in the lobby who said he would call the company that they outsourced their parking services to. So we then headed off to find this Dock Shoppe but the numbering on Queens Quay was all messed up, and we ended up walking forever. Once we finally got there I had to buy gloves twice as expensive as the cheap ones at Fogh, but whatever.

On the way back to the Radisson we got icecream and stopped at a boat rental place. I inquired about the qualifications required to rent a J24 ($300 for 3 hrs) and ended up being interrogated by this sailing lady while everyone in the place stood and stared. Turns out I was a fraud because while I could remember that I was a level 2 LTS instructor I could not remember the color associated with that level. In the end she offered that they could teach me to sail. Thanks.

Back at the Radisson my card was out of the machine but the lobby guy knew nothing about it so I called CIBC to cancel. Turns out someone had gotten my card out and called them, but instead of leaving it with the hotel lobby they were going to drop it off at a CIBC in Oakville. Thanks? Well, the card got cancelled and I should have a new one soon. The irony of course is that the Dock Shoppe had free parking...

We then checked out The Beaches (where there was no parking) and grabbed some dinner in the Annex before heading back to Waterloo with Jackie to do a little pub crawl. Turns out that closing time on Sunday of the long weekend is pretty early so we only ended up a two bars before heading to Ming's to close out the night.

Hopefully we didn't scare Jackie off with all the math talk...
