I've been talking to a board member at Kick about some integration which led me to look up my top 10 artists (by listen) on Winamp. Here they are (Top 55 here):

RankSong NameListen Count
1)The Tragically Hip
2812
2)Ani Difranco
907
3)R.E.M.
796
4)Counting Crows
682
5)Tegan and Sara
660
6)Barenaked Ladies
593
7)Ani DiFranco
535
8)Watchmen
491
9)Dar Williams
383
10)Beth Orton
377
(Actually if you look at the Top 55 you'll that some artists appear more than once and so for example Tegan and Sara should be higher on the list).

Now think if I set a payment amount of a penny per listen.. The Hip would get like $30. Not a bad deal for both parties. I think I could live paying a penny per listen. But could the record labels?

Todd from Waterloo Wide Web emailed me today wondering if I picked up on his post to Metafilter. I hadn't but hey it's also cool to find out that people actually read your weblog.

OpenNap is eating our box alive. It's been killed for the time being. Also rumor has it our DNS is spotty. Don't know why. Of course if you're reading this and can get to FT then you don't have a problem.

I have a new resume online because I'm looking for job.

If you're doing p2p or digital media in Toronto then chances are I'd like to work for you. And don't worrry. I don't expect the 68k USD mentioned below.

This is for my mom: $68,000 [USD] was the average offer for a new grad in computer science in the spring. From Class of 2001: Finding that dream tech job.
