I've arrived in Cancun.

I've been exhausted all day. Maybe even though the last two months have been so exciting I've also been stressed without really knowing it and now that I'm on vacation that is beginning to take it's toll.

None the less. Here I am. I caught a $9 shuttle into downtown after it first dropped everyone off at the big resorts. This is because I'm a day early and didn't feel like finding out just how much it was to add an extra day at our all inclusive. Of course a normal person would have made arrangements for their extra day ahead of time. Not me. I hopped on the shuttle and asked to go downtown. Of course the shuttle driver had a place to recommend. Knowing only that a hostel was $10 and that I could do cheaper than $40, based on information from an airport worker, his recommendation of $25 sounded reasonable. The place he dropped me at is two blocks off of the main street in downtown Cancun (downtown Cancun is 20km from the resorts). The place is rough. No lock on the door (so I put a cabinet in front of it), no toilet seat, no air conditioning. In other words it's perfect. I of course noticed that the shuttle guy did not leave until after I had checked in and went upstairs. But that's the way the system works, isn't it?

...Neither of my flights were full.
