From Bowman, Wilco Ask File-Traders for Donations:
As a rebuttal to the fan's eagerness for their new music, Wilco launched a website called justafan.org, designed specifically for those Wilco fans who have illegally downloaded the upcoming album as a place to donate their money in compensation. Through word-of-mouth, the website brought in over $1,500 in its first day. All proceeds will go to the band's selected charity, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres.

At Fairtunes our first artist to request that their contributions be sent to a charity was Ani Difranco.

This weekend.. Friday John and I randomly went to see Stereolab and completely missed the opener, Manitoba, who was what we really wanted to see. Damn Seattle start early end early mentality!

Saturday was my first weekend day of just hanging out, which was nice, then in the late afternoon John and I went for a very short ride followed by a BBQ. Saturday night we celebrated Ben's (my officemate) and his roommate, Bria's birthdays.

Sunday was a lazy day which was thoroughly thrown off by the time change so sorry I didn't call any of you. I did however discover the first season of 24 which I'm sure will result in me being very lazy on the couch this week and might result in the purchase of a television sooner then I had planned.

Upcoming.. Monday and Tuesday I have two full days of training on how to be a PM at Microsoft. Wednesday I will hopefully go racing on an Olson 30. Friday I have a site visit with a business that has a Media Center.

Scoble on that folder to weblog thingy:
...if you're a new Microsoft employee, finding stuff like that is hard. It took me 11 months to build up a store of useful stuff. Why shouldn't I share that with my coworkers?

Microsoft is a very email centric organization and I see a lot of potential for a brain dead simple mechanism for getting some of that knowledge out into a linkable and searchable space. Yes we have internal blogs but even though blogging has a low barrier it is still too high for extremely busy people.
