Thomas Hawk, My Ensy Weensy Little Problem with Trying to Use MCE for Making DVDs.
So I got the discs home and started poking around in MCE. Sure enough there I found that right in the MCE software I could make a DVD. Wonderful! Wrong. After making my DVD I found out that it was just a data DVD -- I knew it was too good to be true and I should have known better.
Thomas has unfortunately run into a problem that you will typically encounter only on a machine that has possibly been upgraded from 2004 to 2005 or that you have built yourself. The problem is that you are only able to burn data DVDs through MCE. The solution is to install a MCE friendly MPEG encoder. I'd recommend contacting your OEM about getting one if you are in this situation.
