Heads up that some of you are installing TweakMCE on your non-USA MCEs by hacking the registry. A note from our dev team:
changing the ident regkey will cause future QFEs and new versions of MCE to fail to install.

You've been warned. Also note that we will shortly be releasing a new build of TweakMCE that will work on non-USA MCE machines so the reg hack will no longer be necessary.

We go from the low end in the previous post to the high end. NY Times, TV Room's PC Wants to Be the Center of All Media:
A year and a half ago, Microsoft asked Mr. Silver's company to develop a certification program to improve the quality of media center computers. At the Consumer Electronics Show here last week, Microsoft's chairman, Bill Gates, announced that Alienware, Hewlett-Packard, Niveus Media, Stack9 Systems and RicaVision International would offer PC's that carried a Microsoft-I.S.F. joint certification for home theater use.

Read on to find out more about ISF certification for Media Centers.

Winbook is offering a $999 30" LCD and a $999 living room Media Center.

On the surface this looks like a great deal as I don't know of any other living room Media Center with a sub $1000 price point.

See Design Technica - Windbook Intros $999 Media Center PC for more details.
