Why don't I post more?

Well Friday before work I drove down to Kent and closed on my boat purchase. This seemingly easy process took an hour and a half because I spent an hour on the phone with my credit card company. See because electronic transfers take so long I was putting part of the purchase on my credit card while I waited for all my incoming money transfers to clear. Unfortunately my card was stolen the day before and it took quite some time to convince Bank of America to let me put just one more charge before they completely killed my card. They couldn't simply left the hold on the card because apparently credit card thiefs automate the process of stealing your money and lifting the hold for even five minutes would mean the thiefs would steal even more. Fortunately I was saved by some offline transaction processing thing that they negeotiated with my boat dealer.

I then went to work, and let's just say that work is a little zoo-y right now.

After work I met the boat dealer down in Renton (in the rain) and we put my boat in the water and I drove it up Lake Washington to the 520 bridge (the one I cross to and from work) and I drove parallel to that a few times because I know how frustrating it is to be stuck in your car and to see people tooling around in their boats :). And of course, it was super exciting to be ripping around in the rain with full foul weather gear on and the tunes pumping (my iPod connects directly to the stereo!); it's going to be a great summer.

I then docked the boat at Portage Bay on Lake Union which was a trick since 'tournament' boats (i.e. inboard motors with rudders) handle much differently then the outboards I'm used to. Also the moorage spot was a tight fit for my boat which has a 98" beam. Hopefully I can move to a roomier spot.

Fifteen minutes after getting home from my boating adventure I was out the door and went off to a private party at a sushi restaurant downtown for some upcoming fashion show. Sadly the models were not drinking but we had a good time none the less. Then it was off to Chapel, because hanging out with sober models does get boring, until close.

Saturday I woke up ridiculuously early (and hung over) and went (sailboat) racing. It was raining and blowing 20+ knots all day and I had a blast (and a headache). I witnessed a lot of high speed wipe outs and we certainly had our own. We blew out our #3 fancy jib and put the boat on it's side with a killer broach with the spinnaker up (I really thought we were going all the way over). After emerging from the day bruised and battered (I'm ordering knee pads) I went home and crashed. Fifteen minutes after waking up I went out, grabbed dinner, and tried to find a costume for the costume party I would be attending that night. Unfortunately, no costume stores were open at 9:30pm. I even tried the sex store but their costume selection was lacking (and a little too skimpy). Fortunately Katrina had some odds and ends and it wasn't long before our crew was at the Studio's latest house party, themed Studio 911. Saturday, I learned my lesson and called it quits early in preparation for Sunday.

Because Sunday was another day of racing. When it was all said and done we sailed in 8 races and placed 2nd. After eight hours on the water I went home wet and sunburnt and watched an hour of TV to decompress and then headed over to Ben's for a dinner party.

I really never spent more than a few minutes at home this weekend!
