Just testing the when-ness. Just testing the new logo. Our mystery roommate revealed! Here is Maeve also known as Maeve-Scalater, or Scalate). She also supplied us with a photo of our god, I mean, favorite folk singer, Ani. Fun with Radioland. This is a post to fix something I broke. Movie Critic is an old but yet powerful site. Matt's Dream World: The local movie store (in my case Rogers) unlocks the database of data they've collected on me by allowing me to see lists of movies I've rented in the past. I can manipulate these lists by saying which movies I liked and disliked. Then using Movie Critic software they build a web terminal RIGHT IN THE STORE so that when I'm browsing for movies on Sunday afternoons I can load up my profile and have it recommend something to me. What does this mean? It means I will rent more movies therefore spending more money. While we're at it.. The bookstore, CD store, and grocery store should do this too.
Ugh. We live in a backwards world. Ask MyRichUncle to Pay for School. [Wired News]
Ah! Too funny! Matt Langeman and I talked about this last spring. Someone 'invests in you' (i.e. pays your tution) and then they get a cut of your future income. If I hadn't of thought it was such a wacky idea I too could have put a business plan together and sought out VC money to start my own MyRichUncle.com (a little sexist though?). Should You Donate Money to Companies? Interesting discussion on a matter closely related to websites that allow you to send money to your favorite musicians because we all now know that musicians are essentially businesses/companies.
Check out my Amazon Wishlist. I must admit that the Amazon website actually has a lot of neat features. Of course it does suck that some of my gifts are cheaper in Canada and some can't even be shipped here. But you get the idea. That's the stuff I want :).
