Microsoft press release on XBox 360 and MCE integration, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and Xbox 360 to Provide Unprecedented Digital Entertainment Experience Throughout the Home: Every Xbox 360 will have Media Center Extender functionality built in and available out of the box.

Everyone once and a while I get an email about a problem with Media Center's guide information. Recently I found out about this site, Windows XP Media Center Edition Electronic Program Guide Issue Submission Form where you can report guide errors or mistakes. Dell charges an extra $38 for the software.
[cut] I've pitted a dual-tuner Comcast digital cable box against a Windows XP Media Center PC. For DVR reliability, the Media Center PC wins. We agonized over loosening the tuner requirements but I think we made the right decision. I know that at my apartment the majority of content I consume on my 46" TV through Media Center does not come through a tuner. I also have a good friend who on every ski/bike vacation we go on shots gigs and gigs of photos. After each day of skiing/biking we review the photos on his notebook but if he had a MCE laptop the experience would be greatly enhanced if he could hook it up to the TV in the hotel room (if only Dell/Toshiba made it easy to upgrade to MCE after buying a non-MCE notebook). 5/9/2005 - 10:14 pm GMT - [guid] Fox Sports launched a Media Center site in Online Spotlight today: [image]

Reuters, US appeals court tosses FCC's broadcast flag rule: A U.S. appeals court on Friday struck down a Federal Communications Commission rule designed to limit people from sending copies of digital television programs over the Internet. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia said the FCC had "exceeded the scope of its delegated authority" with the 2003 rule, which would have required TV set manufacturers to start using new technology by July 1. ! 5/6/2005 - 10:24 am GMT - [guid]
