At her Microsoft interview they should have asked her whether she could install their DVD playback kit on their XBox :).

*I* got it working but needless to say there is some incompatability between the new Sex and the City DVD and the XBox's DVD capabilities.

Do you boil your ribs before BBQing?

My dad says yes, my housemate who worked at a restaurant says yes but all the 'Internet experts' I found via Google say no.

The sobering truth

I think more money is spent by the government and by private industry examining the blank media tariff increase here in Canada then will be collected by it.

Canoe has the first In Violet Light review and gave it a 4/5.
The band initiated strict security measures around the release; no advance copies were made available for the media. The result? "In Violet Light" is that rarest of things: a major release that didn't spring a pre-release leak via the Internet.

At a small gathering here at 161 several weeks ago two good friends broke out into a vicious fight while viewing Gladiator. The argument: Is the NBA fixed?

While not involved in the argument I do believe that professional sports are fixed. How fixed? Just as fixed as the WWE, the music business, politics,... (and the list goes on).

Though of course I was surprised to see (via Natalie) an article from Reuters: Consumer Advocate Nader Protests NBA Officiating.

But maybe fixed is the wrong word.. Let's just say it's usually the ones with the most money who win.

Ticketmaster.ca for the Hip shows:
Please adhere to published ticket limits. Orders exceeding the ticket limit will be cancelled without notice. TICKET LIMIT IS 8 PER PERSON FOR ONE SHOW OR 4 TIX FOR BOTH SHOWS

I have 4 tickets for the first show and 4 for the second and I swear that '4 tix for both shows' limit wasn't in place two days ago. Of course the wording is probably just ambigious and really means that the limit is 8 total for the shows.

But what is 'without notice'? Will people show up to the event and find out then and there that are tickets aren't valid?

Check out the Hip's new single, It's a Good Life If You Don't Weakan, at The Hip.com. It was just released this morning. Expect a detailed write up from me commenting on the Hip's unique strategy for releasing their latest album.
