Hi, I'm Matt Goyer, a mid twenties Canadian living in Seattle working at Redfin. In a previous life I attended the University of Waterloo, and founded two companies, Fairtunes and Transpose, and used to work at Microsoft. Whoa…$21 for a light bulb? You can get a regular light bulb for about $1 at Wal-Mart. Let the limousine liberals, the Hollywood elite, and the wealthy environmentalists pay 20x that price so they can walk around feeling like they’ve done something good for the earth.
The earth has over six billion humans living on it. One third of them, over two billion, live in China and India alone. Now if they could all be convinced to start buying $21 light bulbs, the earth’s situation might look a little brighter.
