How long does meat last in the freezer?

Via the BBQ Report, How long can you store meat in the freezer? Click through, for some items its not as long as you think. I know the other day I tried eating some sausages that had been in for a while and they turned out to be quite nasty.

…I’m going to need to print this out and put it on our fridge and then I’m going to have to turf all the bad food lurking in the back.

think back to marchand…when we moved do you remember how old some of that stuff was? We found stuff in the bottom of the freezer that was getting on 15 years! Ah, the joy of a deep freeze…..

Well, it all depends… If the meat has been frozen at the slaughterhouse right after the slaugther, it will be ok for up to 4 years. Im not kidding. We’ve just had a big food scandal here in denmark, and the health autorities ruled that there was no health risk with food that has been frozen for up to 4 years.
And food frozen for 10 years wont kill you, but probably wont taste very nice.
